i-Squared Develops Business Resource Guide for City of Pittsburgh

i-Squared recently developed and delivered a comprehensive “Small Business Resource Guide” for the City of Pittsburgh.

The guide was commissioned by the Equal Opportunity Review Commission (EORC), a City agency which helps Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) build relationships with local government, and facilitates small-business development through education, training, capacity-building, and technical assistance.

Over the course of the project, i-Squared interviewed numerous City government staff, and researched and compiled resource information for dozens of local, state, federal, and private entities. The guide provides valuable information such as small-business basics and start-up tips, bidding and contracting procedures for City departments and authorities, financial and other development resources available through government and private agencies, and special considerations for M/WBEs, including certification eligibility and procedures.

i-Squared was awarded the contract to develop the Resource Guide after submitting the winning response to the City’s public Request For Proposal. The EORC plans to distribute the materials to its constituents through job fairs, educational sessions, its Web site, and other avenues of business and community outreach.
